TWITTER is steadily transitioning to become a free movie-watching experience with Elon Musk's statement that Blue subscribers can upload two-hour videos of up to 8GB in size. The after-effects of the move came to light in the announcement tweet itself when a user uploaded Shrek the Third in the comments box. However, the media was removed from the platform later.
Blue subscribers have been using the platform to upload longer videos since then. Some of them are even uploading complete-length movies. We were able to locate Britney Spears's 'Crossroads' on Twitter at the time of filing this story.

The Verge reported users have watched the Super Mario Bros film on Twitter. According to India Today, users are uploading movie trailers, music videos and more on the platform. A user uploaded Evil Dead on Twitter, having a run time of over 1.5 hours.
While many of these movies have been removed, new ones continue to flood the Twitter feed of users. One of the trends noted by the news outlet is users are uploading movies and shows right under the tweet of the Tesla CEO.
Following the announcement, Twitter users have some interesting takes. A user (@sagarcasm) said, "Release new movies on Twitter then. Twitter Blue ~ Amazon Prime." Another user(@GhostIn_Shadow) wrote, "Twitter is the new Netflix". One more user (@exploirs) said, "twitterflix incoming," and one more (@lexfridman) wrote "Waiting for 3+ hour videos" in the replies.
However, a viewer must note that such movies violate the policies of the micro-blogging platform and would eventually get wiped away. Further, a user can report the content if they wish to get a particular media file removed.
While the length for Twitter Blue subscribers has been upgraded, the limit for free subscribers is 140 seconds. The new feature is live on iOS and the web version. Android users can only upload videos of up to 10 minutes in the new scheme, the Help Centre of Twitter states.
Meanwhile, Twitter underwent sweeping changes since the theatrical deal last year. Longer video uploads form a part of these changes under the Blue subscription.
