Vivo has officially announced that the X300 and X300 Pro smartphones will go on sale in China on October 13. Pre-launch teasers on Chinese social media have already spilt the beans on important features of the phones, including the support for a Zeiss 2.35x telephoto converter. The accessory comes in black and silver colour options and serves the dual purpose of a photography accessory and a fashion statement. It provides flexible shooting modes like landscape, portraits, and candid shots.
Vivo's Software Transition: Origin OS 6 for India
In addition to the hardware reveals, Vivo is also bringing a major software shift to India. The brand is swapping Funtouch OS for Origin OS 6 based on Android 16. This has long been rumoured, and Vivo has made this official by renaming its official Funtouch OS X page to Origin OS.
Origin OS, previously exclusive to China, promises a more refined and customisable user interface. However, it remains to be seen whether ads and bloatware will be reduced in the Indian rollout.
Expected Launch Timeline in India
The Vivo X300 and X300 Pro are expected to arrive in India by the end of this year, although no official dates have been announced.
Vivo X300 and X300 Pro Specifications
The new X300 series is set to boast a very dramatic "suspended water droplet" camera design made from cold-sculpted glass, imbuing the phones with an otherworldly look. The vanilla X300 should be available in Free Blue, Comfortable Purple, Pure Black, and Pink.
On the hardware side, both phones are said to feature MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chips alongside an Immortalis-Drage GPU. The X300 will allegedly be equipped with a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage, while the Pro version can reportedly have a 7,000mAh battery and a Universal Signal Amplifier chipset.
Camera upgrades are also impressive, with a 200MP main sensor said to be a part of both phones. Vivo is also planning to launch a custom-designed Super Sense vibration motor for improved haptic feedback.
Expected Price in India
Rumours indicate the Vivo X300 might be priced at Rs 69,999, and the X300 Pro could be priced at around Rs 99,999.
