APPLE recently released the dates of the Worldwide Developers Conference, which will go live from Apple Park in Cupertino, California. Among the new introductions slated to launch in the event is watchOS 10.
Mark Gurman, a popular name for Apple product tips and reveals, has shared insights on the upcoming watchOS. Gurman believes it will be an "extensive upgrade" with changes in the UI. Further, he delays significant hardware changes for 2024.
"I believe the new watchOS should be a fairly extensive upgrade — with notable changes to the user interface — unlike iOS 17. It’s important for watchOS to have a big year given that the Apple Watch hardware updates will be anything but major," Gurman shared in a Tweet.
Further, Gurman shared 2024 will pack major hardware changes. "The device is poised for a more modest year after big changes in 2022, when the first Apple Watch Ultra debuted. There are plans for a major update to the watch hardware in 2024, complete with a larger, custom-built display."
Currently, watchOS 9.4 is live after undergoing a set of beta trials. The watchOS 9 comes with a Workout app, a Medications app, redesigned compass app, sleep insights, personalised watch faces and more. The first-of-its-kind AFib history feature came with watchOS 9.
Speaking of the product, Apple Watch Ultra is the latest flagship product in the watch lineup. It comes with an Always-On Retina display with up to 2,000 nits brightness. Blood Oxygen and ECG app are present on the wearable for Apple's commitment to health-centric features. Other features include temperature sensing, cycle tracking, emergency SOS, fall and crash detection, cellular connectivity and more.
Several models of the Apple Watch have made headlines in the past for timely information on the deteriorating health of the wearer. Signalling fatal diseases in some cases.
Coming to other updates of WWDC, the Chief Correspondent for Bloomberg and 'Power On' Author revealed the upcoming iOS 17 is expected to come with "nice to have features" in the past. Other hyped products in the event include the expected debut of Apple's Mixed Reality Headset. The highly-anticipated event will commence on June 5.
