WhatsApp Update: Meta-owned WhatsApp tests new features with each beta version and releases them later in the stable build. In the latest move, the instant messaging application is reportedly rolling out support to allow beta users to manage channels from their linked iOS and Android phones, similar to their primary devices.
According to WABetaInfo, 'Channels for linked devices' is rolling out in Android beta '2.24.10.23' version and iOS beta '24.10.10.70' version. Testers can update their app from the Google Play Store or the TestFlight app, depending on your OS platform, to check if the update is available on your smartphone.
This change can offer a unified experience across linked devices for beta testers. With the new functionality, users can create, view and follow channels using their eligible linked device, according to the report. For the unaware, users cannot manage channels from their linked devices in the current versions.

Based on the screengrab shared by the news tracker, the new update could help users skip the process of switching to a primary device to manage or access channels. This can help ensure a cohesive environment across all devices running on both mobile platforms.
The change can help boost engagement and promote swift reactions to channel updates by beta users because of the consistent experience. With this independent array of features, users need not be concerned that they will have to move to their primary device to catch up on channel activity. The feature can ease the accessibility of content across devices.
Meanwhile, the social media giant is also rolling out new sticker creation shortcuts for beta users on iOS and Android. This can enhance the sticker-making process by eliminating a few initial steps. The two buttons: 'Create' and 'Use AI' can be seen in the screengrab on both platforms. You can read more on this here.
