WhatsApp has been adding a slew of privacy features for users across the globe. Previously, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform added a chat lock for the primary devices which allowed the users to protect their chats. In the latest update, the messaging platform is now working on a new feature which will allow users to protect their chats on the linked devices.

According to WaBetaInfo, the company is developing a new function with the goal of providing more privacy to users. With this feature, users will be able to protect their chats with a lock that can only be opened with a secret code, hiding chats from lists and only accessing them when the code is entered. This feature was previously only available for primary devices, but according to the article, linked devices may soon have it as well.

Users can set up the code on the primary device and access locked chats on linked devices because the chats will be synced with the primary device, providing greater convenience to users. This feature may help the users to improve privacy by ensuring that sensitive information remains hidden.

Meanwhile, the company is also working on a variety of features including the ability to make international payments. According to a tipster, AssembleDebug, the company is working on a new way of payments with the help of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which is already a part of the application.
