JE Technology Desk: WhatsApp, a popular instant messaging app, continues to grab headlines for introducing new features and enhancements across its platform. In the latest move, the company is developing animated avatars on its app on Android, reports WABetaInfo, a popular medium to track WhatsApp-related updates.
The WhatsApp enthusiast tracked the option in the beta build marked '2.23.15.6' on the Google Play Store. However, the report adds the feature is "under development" and not live for beta testers and will debut in a future version of the messaging app. Despite the functionality not releasing to users, the outlet shared a demo of the animated avatar pack in action.
In the screengrab, an array of options are visible in the keyboard and chats. These are animated replicas of a user's static avatar created on the app. This will help add a more personalised and dynamic touch to conversations on the internet-based messaging app. Plus, it will sprinkle "life and personality" to stickers, ensure better expressive communication and add a personal touch to chats, the report notes.
