WhatsApp Pay ndia users: We have been able to make mobile payments via UPI through WhatsApp for quite some time now, but now the instant messaging app has got permission to support payments for other services which would include services like electricity recharge or mobile recharges as well. UPI has been quite popular in our country for a while now, and the credit goes to the convenience that comes with it and making secure payments digitally without the hassle of carrying that extra change that we all know gets a bit messy sometimes. 

This could be one of the sole reasons why WhatsApp is willing to get into this digital payments market, making people spend more time on the app altogether. The feature is not yet out and even the beta testing is still in the works, but this has been spotted in an APK breakdown of WhatsApp which indicates that we might just see an official launch of this facility soon.

Why This Could Be A Big Deal For WhatsApp Users And Meta

This app has become a part of our everyday life, from texting, calling, and video chats to group meetings and even AI image generation we have all that right in our hands and in India UPI payments via WhatsApp are also enabled, so it would seem like a logical step for the Instant messaging platform to get itself in the bill payments market as well. 

We have been making digital payments for a while now and there have been multiple apps that we have tried and tested, but India being one of the biggest markets for Meta and with a whopping 400 million users( Approx.), staying on just one app to do it all would be much more attractive and convenient, and this could prove to be a prudent step for WhatsApp and Meta as well. 

Now if we are able to make all sorts of payments through one gateway, this might just work well in Meta's favour, but it is only when we actually have this facility in our hands that we will know how it works and if people are ready to rely on it, or will they stick to their respective modes of digital payments.
