WhatsApp Status Video: The instant messaging platform has become an essential component of every smartphone user's life. Not only is connectivity important, but the ability to share status with your contacts has been a popular feature among its vast global user base; yet, users are only allowed to upload 30 seconds of video as status. In the most recent upgrade, the business is apparently testing the ability for users to share WhatsApp status for up to one minute.

According to a report by WaBetaInfo, the Meta-owned messaging giant is testing this feature under the new Android 2.24.6.19 update. The report said that the platform will offer users to mention contacts in their status but now it says that in order to enhance the user experience, the company will offer bigger duration video status updates. The new beta update is already available on the Google Play Store.

In a screenshot shared in the report, it can be seen that WhatsApp is now extending the duration of video statuses from 30 seconds to 1 minute. This feature is currently limited to select beta testers and is expected to roll out for the public in the coming weeks.

This decision may have been taken in response to user comments received via video status feedback. Users have regularly requested the opportunity to submit lengthier films as status updates, according to the research. With the new one-minute duration, users will be able to share more detailed video content without the need for cuts or compromising the length of the video while conveying the desired message.
