WhatsApp, which has recently shifted down the navigation panel from the top to bottom for most Android phones, is now reportedly working on a calling interface and may introduce a tweaked version. The new calling interface will come with some enhanced elements for a better user experience.
However, the new updated interface is currently under testing and is available with the WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.24.7.19 update. It is expected that the Meta-owned instant messaging platform will roll out to a wider audience in the coming weeks.
According to the WaBetaInfo report, the WhatsApp features and updates reporting website, the firm is improving the feature's intuitiveness and navigating during calls by substituting the back shortcut with a new minimise button. The minimise button provides a more user-friendly way to depart the call screen than the back button, even though they both accomplish the same goal.

The messaging app hopes to make up for users' worries that using the back button could be interpreted as ending a call with this update. With the help of this minimise button, users will have an easy way to exit the call screen without ending the call.
“We feel that WhatsApp streamlines user interaction inside the calling interface by substituting a more natural back shortcut. Additionally, WhatsApp embeds such buttons into unique forms to contrast with the calling screen's background, ensuring that they are always visible and distinctive,” said the report.

Meanwhile, the instant messaging platform will soon allow users to pin multiple messages within a chat for Android users. The feature is rolling out to a wider audience, announced Mark Zuckerberg via his WhatsApp Channel. Overall, the users will be able to pin up to three messages in a conversation for group or individual messages.
