WhatsApp, which has been working on a variety of customisations to improve the user experience, is now reportedly working on a new feature that would allow users to change the colour theme of the application. The update comes after the Meta-owned instant messaging platform introduced the default chat theme feature previously, which allows the users to select a uniform theme across the platform.

According to the WaBetaInfo report, the new feature is a part of the new beta version for Android 2.24.18.6 update. The users will be able to allow users to personalise their main branding colour of the application. However, the report states that the feature is under development but early indications suggest that the platform is planning to replace the traditional green colour with more alternatives, depending on the theme.

In the light theme, the iconic green will be changed to black for a minimal look. If the users switch to a dark theme, the users may see a transition to white colour as primary, creating a striking contrast and better readability. It seems that the platform is trying to offer a better appearance and more control over the interface to the users.

However, the Android beta version still does not have a different set of colour options, which was recently announced for iOS users, the feature could be rolling out to all Android users in the coming week. Do note that the Meta-owned instant messaging platform has not confirmed the new theme feature. However, the presence in the beta version suggests that it could be a part of an upcoming update.
