WhatsApp, an instant messaging application, gets regular attention for testing new features across its smartphone and PC platforms. In the latest update in the business build of the app, the company is rolling out a new option to share music audio in video calls. According to WABetaInfo, the feature is available in the "2.24.1.19" business version of the app to beta testers on the Android platform.
As per the report, the feature will roll out for more versions in the upcoming weeks. The WhatsApp tracker first traced the feature in development in the "2.23.26.18" update on Android. It lets a user share audio of music in a video call to collectively let people hear audio and video when a participant shares the screen for an immersive experience. Beta users can install the app from the Google Play Store.
The description of the new "listen to video and music together" reads: "When you screen share, audio you play on your device will also be shared with people in your call." Based on the text, when a WhatsApp account shares their screen, the audio playing on the connected device will be shared in a call. This will also be supported in one-to-one calls for a synchronised experience.

Apart from WhatsApp Business, the option is also available in some WhatsApp Messenger beta versions. This can help users enjoy shared experiences (for movies and video content) on the app while watching videos with music or accompanying audio. Besides this update, the Meta app is working on a theme option to let users choose the main colour of the application. It is under development in the iOS beta version "24.1.10.70".
Available in the TestFlight build, users will be allowed to opt for a branding colour from the five options for better customisation based on their preference. Moreover, the company is also testing the option to control input and output in the latest Windows beta app via a new option in settings. It can help control devices such as cameras, mic and speakers to improve the chatting experience.
