Apple iPhone 17: Apple is gearing up to unveil the iPhone 17 series this September, and it's shaping up to be a major step forward from the iPhone 16 lineup. With a fresh shake-up in the models and several high-end upgrades, the excitement around this year’s release is building fast.
One of the biggest changes expected is the move to a 120Hz refresh rate display across the board—a big leap from the 60Hz screens seen on the iPhone 16 and its siblings, a move that has been long awaited and is also a common thing for even some of the mid- to budget-tier Androids. The iPhone 17 lineup will reportedly include four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a brand new addition called the iPhone 17 Air.

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max: Triple 48 MP Cameras and a Tetra Prism Lens
The Pro models are expected to see the most dramatic hardware boost. Rumours suggest both the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will come with an upgraded triple-camera system—each lens packing 48 megapixels. That includes a main shooter, a new fusion module, and an ultrawide sensor. Apple is also said to be introducing a Tetra Prism telephoto lens this year, which should significantly improve zoom performance and clarity in long-range shots.
In addition, Apple might be giving users more control over their photos with the option to manually adjust the camera aperture—helping prevent overexposure and giving more creative flexibility, especially in challenging lighting conditions.
Meet the iPhone 17 Air: Slim Design, Fewer Features
The iPhone 17 Air, meanwhile, is all about form over function. It’ll be the slimmest iPhone to date, thanks to a thinner chassis—but that comes at the cost of certain features. There’s no space for a telephoto lens, so the Air will stick to a single 48 MP rear fusion camera. While that makes it less appealing for photography enthusiasts, the Air is likely to win over users looking for a sleek, lightweight design.
The base iPhone 17 won’t be left out either. It’s expected to feature a 48 MP main sensor and a 12 MP ultrawide lens, making it a solid option for those who want decent camera performance without going Pro.
Price Expectations in India, the US, and Dubai
When it comes to pricing, early estimates suggest the iPhone 17 will start at around ₹89,900 in India. The top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max could hit ₹1,64,900. In Dubai, the base model may start at approximately AED 3,799.
With major camera and display upgrades, a new design direction, and a wider range of models, Apple’s iPhone 17 launch could be one of its most talked-about events in recent years.
