Garena has officially announced the TEZ Free Fire Ma India Cup 2025 (TEZ FFMIC), unveiling the long-awaited return of Free Fire esports to India after a two-year hiatus. The tournament will use Free Fire Max and have a total prize pool of Rs 1 crore. This marks the beginning of mobile esports in India. Registrations through the game interface and official Garena social media pages will open on July 7, 2025.

Free Fire 2025 Tournament: Registration Rules & Eligibility

Minimum Rank: Diamond 1

Minimum Level: 40

Only players fulfilling both conditions will be eligible to register.

Why Free Fire Was Banned in India

The initial version of Free Fire got banned in 2022 along with other apps linked to Chinese companies. The reason given by the Indian government was for 'security reasons'. After the title was expected to become available again in 2023, that did not happen. The original version is still unavailable while Free Fire Max is functional and has supported Garena’s return to esports.
