WWDC 2024: Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is rumoured to showcase a range of AI-based software at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024. Ahead of the event, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman hinted at the possible announcements to expect from the livestream. The top highlight could be "Apple Intelligence", likely the Apple way of labelling artificial intelligence. This may be available for the iPhone 15 Pro and the upcoming iPhones set for a debut in September.

According to the journalist, the AI features may be a part of the iPads and Macs running on M1 or a later chipset. These features may likely be opt-in and marketed as beta versions of productive features rather than image and video generation tools. The company has also reportedly partnered with OpenAI to introduce chatbot capabilities powered by ChatGPT.

Simple AI features may work on-device or depend on cloud-based processing for complicated AI tasks. These may include AI summarisation features for overview articles and web pages in Apple Safari. These summarisation features may arrive for messages and emails and a catch-up option for missed notifications and responses for these users.

Siri is also expected to get revamped tweaks to perform actions like deleting emails, editing photos, summarising articles and more. This functionality may also expand to more third-party apps. However, these features may debut next year. As for Voice Memos, it may get audio transcription. Plus, emoji creation features and AI-powered photo editing are also expected at the event.

The company could present the AI cloud features with precautionary measures it is taking for the privacy and security of users who use them. These may include highlighting AI chips that may power Apple's cloud units. Meanwhile, other announcements like a password app are also rumoured for the event.
