Elon Musk's social networking platform, X, is planned to undergo a major change beginning September 29 with the installation of new terms of service and privacy policy revisions. Among the major changes will be the replacement of regularly used Twitter language, the implementation of stronger data scraping standards, and the request of user consent for the acquisition of biometric data and job history.

Tweets And Retweets Getting New Names:

To set itself apart from other social media platforms, X has decided to rename the well-known "tweets" as "posts" and "retweets" as "reposts." This rebranding plan is a break from the microblogging industry norms and tries to give the platform a distinctive personality.

Complete Removal Of Twitter:

As part of its rebranding strategy, X has decided to completely drop the word "Twitter" from its platform and only X will be the new Twitter for the users globally.

Legal Actions and Data Scraping:

To the extent authorised by law, X's revised terms of service also prohibit users from participating as individuals or class members in any class action, collective action, or representative action proceeding. Furthermore, the platform stated that "crawling or scraping the services in any form, for any purpose without our prior written consent is strictly prohibited." Crawling was formerly permitted if performed in compliance with the terms of the robots.txt file, however, scraping services without prior consent is now severely prohibited.

Biometric Data and Employment History Collection:

One of the most notable modifications to X's privacy policy is the addition of sections for "biometric information" and "employment history." Users will be requested for permission to gather biometric data, which X claims will be used for safety, security, and identity.
