X Down Today: X (formerly Twitter) is experiencing an outage, with many users reporting issues while trying to access the platform through the app or website.
As per the data from Downdetector, there can be seen a sudden spike in X (Twitter) outages from 6 PM onwards IST on Saturday. Users all around the globe are being greeted with the message to refresh the page after waiting for a while for the app/site to load, something that we had witnessed yesterday itself and is becoming a lot more common lately. The app shows a sharp rise of 2000+ reports around the said time in the evening in India.

Currently, the most number of outages have been reported in the app, standing at 43%. Previously there have been some reports pointing towards a fire in one of its server units in Hillsboro, Oregon. A fire at an X-operated data centre triggered an emergency response, with initial reports pointing to a possible battery room origin. The incident has affected services for roughly 6,000 users globally. Although the social media platform X (Twitter) has not officially confirmed any reports or given any details on why outages happened yet.
It was assumed that the problem had been resolved, with only some people having issues with the app and login, as the number of outages had calmed down for a while, but we are faced with a sudden spike again. This outage is becoming a trend, with users facing one major outage yesterday itself.
Engineering team from X (Twitter) acknowledged the situation in a post:
“X is aware some of our users are experiencing performance issues on the platform today. We are experiencing a data center outage and the team is actively working to remediate the issue.”
