X (formerly called Twitter) has been focusing efforts on improving the video experience of the service for a while now. Last year, Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk announced users can use AirPlay to watch content on a big screen from an iPhone. Highlighting the feature in his recent X activity, Musk reposted a DogeDesigner's post, which had a video demonstrating the functionality.

The original video clip was shared by @cb_doge in October 2023 and highlighted Airplay support on the iOS app to watch videos on the big screen. Users of Twitter on iPhones can check out the AirPlay feature. In the video, the cast icon (next to the sound icon) is visible inside the media viewer on X. After setting up a TV via AirPlay, users can choose an eligible device to stream the content.

For context, Elon Musk has been emphasising the transition of X into an everything app. In this effort, the company has renewed its focus on videos and the calling experience. As for screencast, while AirPlay worked via the Control Centre earlier, the icon was added to the video player for X to improve the experience of iPhone users and ease the accessibility of the feature.

Several users in the comments section of the recent X post of DogeDesigner complained the feature is not yet available on the Android app. "Not for Android mobile still. I cannot cast. It's been over a year for iPhone. Can you help us Android users out Elon?" a user noted. "@elonmusk when will the cast feature be available for the 3.9 billion Android users on this planet?" another user questioned. A user shared a step-by-step guide on how to use the feature.

Meanwhile, the platform is also working to bring an edit feature for DMs on X. Also, the feature could arrive for replies on the platform. However, a clear timeline for release is not available right now.
