Xiaomi on Wednesday announced its brand-new Android 16-based user interface, the HyperOS 3, at its September 2025 launch event. HyperOS 3 is full of AI-algorithms, and includes a new look for the home screen. It will be pre-installed on the Xiaomi 17 series, starting with the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro and even Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Xiaomi to start MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM testing on more devices; Full List Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco handsets will be updated starting from October via OTA.

HyperOS 3 Key Features

HyperIsland: Xiaomi’s Take on Dynamic Island

Most significant is the introduction of HyperIsland (reminiscent of Apple’s Dynamic Island) into ‪HyperOS 3. It features an at-a-glance event notification and live activity tracking on the home screen.

AI Search: Summarised results, on-device content search, and AI-generated answers

Gallery Search: Quickly find photos within 10 categories, such as food or landscapes

Visual Experience Upgrades
