Xiaomi HyperOS: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi recently announced its new software for smartphones. The OS is all set to succeed the popular MIUI ROM (that will likely be powered by Android 14) on select Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones soon, starting with the Xiaomi 14 series. According to a report from GizChina, some Weibo users have already received a sneak peek into the upcoming OS.

Based on the screenshot shared by these users, the most noticeable change is within the lock screen with diverse options for clock style, fonts and widgets. Moreover, the company is adding an option to customise wallpapers for enhanced personalisation.

As for the control center, the UI design is set to become a lot sleeker. However, a reader must note that these changes have been noticed in the early builds of the OS and might differ in the official final release. According to the report, the ROM will hit the stage on October 27. Other than this, the news outlet also posted a list of possible eligible devices that may receive the new OS.

Among the list of devices include select Redmi K40, K50, K60, Redmi Note 10, Note 11, and Note 12 series devices. The upcoming Redmi Note 13 series: Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, Note 13 Pro, Note 13 and more models will likely receive the update.

Speaking of POCO, the POCO F5, F4 and F3 series models are the premium models that will likely get the new update. Secondly, select X6, X5, X4, M6, M5, M4 and M3 series devices are expected to receive an update.

Finally, moving to Xiaomi, the Xiaomi 14 series will arrive with HyperOS software pre-installed. Xiaomi 13, 12, 11 and Mi 11 series are said to receive the update. The MIX Fold, Fold 2, Fold 3, MIX 4, and Civi series will likely get the new OS update. The Xiaomi Pad 5 and 6 series models will also get the update.

For the unversed, Xiaomi introduced MIUI on August 16, 2010, and now has over 1.175 billion users worldwide, according to a post from Lei Jun on X, formerly known as Twitter.
