JE Technology Desk: YouTube, a popular video streaming platform owned by Google is now introducing a new feature that will let the users watch videos in Full HD quality, which as per the company is the enhanced bitrate version of 1080P. Dubbed as ‘1080p Premium’ the feature will let users get more details and more detailed video quality.

The feature was previously only available to YouTube Premium Subscribers on iOS, but according to the report, certain Android and Google TV users are now able to access it. YouTube has begun to push out the feature to Android users, indicating that the capability is not limited to Apple-centric devices.

What Is 1080P Premium Feature?

The newly offered function allows users to run high-bitrate videos, allowing them to stream videos with higher quality and attention to tiny details. For example, if the user is watching a gaming or sports movie in 1080p Premium, the motion will be detailed and stable.

How To Use 1080p Premium?

Those who have not chosen the YouTube Premium subscription will have to change the setting manually, while those who have the subscription will have the mode enabled by default.

Is YouTube 1080p Premium Available For All?

Not all the videos support the new 1080p Premium setting. As per the reports, the feature is currently supported on the videos which were uploaded with 1080p quality. Users will not be able to see Shorts, Live Streams, and lower resolution videos in 1080p Premium quality.

There is a lot of uncertainty about the new ‘1080p Premium’ as it can be seen by a select Android user and it is still unclear whether the Google-owned platform will roll out the feature for every user or not. The company has also not made any official statement at the time of writing.
