YouTube, a popular video streaming site, has just introduced new tools for producers after promoting short-form content on its platform. A Collab tool, a Q&A sticker, and many other new creation tools have been added to the platform that is controlled by Google for short, vertical videos called YouTube Shorts.
“YouTube Shorts are now watched by over 2 billion logged-in users each month, and today we're providing new ways to encourage inspiration and creativity,” said the company in its official blog post published on Tuesday.
What Is Collab Tool?
With the help of the brand-new creation tool Collab, users can record a Short alongside other YouTube or Shorts videos. To simply participate in a split screen format, creators have a variety of layout possibilities to select from. Users only need to choose "Remix" and then "Collab" to remix an acceptable YouTube video or short.
The new Q&A sticker, which will soon be available, will let creators ask their audience questions and receive answers directly in the comments. The video-sharing website is also developing a vertical live experience that is mobile-only, allowing live producers to be found immediately in the Shorts feed.
In the testing phase, vertical live video previews will be incorporated into the Shorts feed and shown to viewers. A scrollable feed of other live videos will be available to users once they tap into the experience.
“Starting today and in the coming weeks, we’ll roll out Collab to all creators on iOS, with Android to follow," the platform said.
"With a new feature that automatically bundles the audio and effect from the Short you're remixing from," the firm claimed. "We're making it easier to create on YouTube with Shorts whenever inspiration strikes on your feed," it added. Furthermore, in the next weeks, the site will begin testing new recomposition tools to allow users more easily adapt their horizontal films into Shorts.
