Hyderabad Firecrackers Banned: Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand on Saturday issued an order prohibiting the bursting of firecrackers in public areas, especially around military cantonment areas amid increased security throughout the nation.
“In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 67 c of Hyderabad City Police Act do hereby notify the general public that bursting of firecrackers or fireworks in public places is strictly prohibited in interest of public safety especially in and around military cantonment areas,” Anand stated.
There have been many reports of individuals celebrating by setting up crackers at night after Operation Sindoor.
Police cautioned that the sound of crackers might be confusing or misconstrued for something more serious given the sensitive state that is now in place.

“In the light of the current security environment, the sudden sound of crackers could be easily misinterpreted as an explosion, or even a terror related activity. This could potentially lead to panic, disrupt public order, and place unnecessary strain on security forces,” the police said.
Legal action would be taken against anyone found to be in violation of the order, officials stressed.
Firecrackers Banned In Gujarat
Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi announced a ban on firecrackers and drones at all public events until May 15 amid rising India-Pakistan tensions. The decision followed Pakistani attacks on Indian cities after India's Operation Sindoor, in which Indian forces targeted terrorist camps at nine locations in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists.
