Telangana Legislative Council Elections: All wine shops, toddy shops, and bars attached to restaurants, including those in star hotels and registered clubs will remain closed in some areas of Cyberabad from February 24 to February 27 in view of Telangana State Legislative Council from Graduates and Teachers Constituencies. Police have imposed the ban to ensure a smooth and peaceful election process. Residents in these areas are advised to plan accordingly as no liquor sales will be allowed during this period.

As per a press release from Cyberabad police, the liquor ban will be in effect from 4 pm on February 25 to 4 pm on February 27. The restrictions apply to establishments within the limits of Kollur and RC Puram police stations.

Telangana State Legislative Council 2025

The biennial elections to the Telangana State Legislative Council are scheduled for 2025, focusing on the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates' and Teachers' Constituencies, as well as the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers' Constituency. The election process commenced on February 3, 2025, with the issuance of the official notification. Candidates had until February 10 to file their nominations, which were scrutinised on February 11.

The deadline for withdrawal of candidatures was February 13. Polling is set for February 27, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and the counting of votes will take place on March 3. The entire election process is expected to conclude by March 8, 2025.
