Hyderabad Fire: A major fire broke out at a furniture shop in Nampally, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Saturday, prompting authorities to launch an operation to douse the fire. Six people are believed to be inside the building. Deccanchronicle reported that there were two children among the stranded people.

The fire incident triggered panic among residents in the market area, leading to a chaotic situation. However, the police and the fire brigade team rushed in time and controlled the situation.

AIMIM MLC, Miza Rahmath Baig Quadri, told news agency, ANI, that six people are feared to be trapped inside the building. 

"My son, Imtiaz, has been working here for years,", a woman seen crying, claiming her son has been trapped inside the furniture godown.

Telangana State Fire DG Vikarm Singh Mann arrived at the incident site. The fire incident took place near the Kamath hotel in the Nampally area of Hyderabad, officials said.

"Total six people are trapped in a building and the officials are conducting their efforts to bring them out," Quadri said.

Four fire tenders have reached the spot to douse the fire. No casualties have been reported as of now, officials stated.

A local said, "It has been about half an hour to an hour now, and there are two or four people downstairs. We can't say anything for sure; at the moment, there is no information at all."

Traffic Alert Issued 

Following the fire incident, the Hyderabad Traffic Police issued an traffic alert, saying the fire accident at a furniture shop on the road from GPO, Abids towards Nampally Station, may cause traffic congestion in the area.
"Commuters are advised to take the route from GPO, Abids towards MJ Market to avoid delays. Please plan your travel accordingly and cooperate with emergency services," the traffic authorities said in an X post.
