Hyderabad News: Hyderabad is set to welcome a new trumpet-shaped flyover at Kokapet (Neopolis), which is now ready for operation. Developed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), the structure is part of the city’s Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) and aims to ease traffic and enhance connectivity in key areas. Authorities are expected to inaugurate the flyover by the end of this month.

Built at a cost of Rs 65 crore, the flyover will provide seamless travel for motorists moving between multiple routes, including Patancheru–Kokapet Layout, Kokapet Layout–Gachibowli, Kokapet Layout–Shamshabad, Shamshabad–Gachibowli and Kokapet Layout–Patancheru.

The Telangana Today report cited, HMDA Superintending Engineer VVS Appa Rao as stating that, the flyover has been planned as part of the integrated development of the Kokapet Layout, which spans over 530 acres. “This trumpet flyover near Movie Towers provides access-controlled entry and exit points towards Patancheru and Shamshabad from the Outer Ring Road (ORR),” he said.

The flyover includes two entry and two exit ramps constructed with a single trumpet design. Five exit lanes and three entry lanes with varying curvature radii have been developed to manage smooth traffic flow. Eight toll booths will operate on the flyover—five for exit and three for entry.

Unlike the double trumpet flyover in Ghatkesar that allows cross-highway movement, the Kokapet structure features a single trumpet to restrict access exclusively to the ORR. This design helps manage traffic volume without enabling crossing over to the opposite highway, as per a Telangana Today report.

Located approximately three kilometres from the Financial District interchange, the Kokapet flyover will become the 22nd interchange along the ORR. It follows the Narsingi (20th) and Mallampet (21st) interchanges, constructed to handle increasing traffic demands due to rapid residential and commercial growth in surrounding areas.

Officials say this new interchange will significantly benefit daily commuters and support future traffic in the rapidly developing Neopolis region.
