Hyderabad News: In a major development, Cherlapalli railway station's second entry and a new railway terminal will be inaugurated on December 28. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will inaugurate the station's second entry in the presence of Union Coal & Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy. The development works were completed recently in the last few months with an expenditure of almost Rs 413 crore.
Cherlapalli is located on the eastern side of the capital city of Telangana and has witnessed major development works in the past few months. Several of the IT companies were demanding the development work in the region as it is situated near the Outer Ring Road.

The development works in the station area were executed to reduce the congestion on the other existing rail terminals in the twin cities. Apart from this, the extra gate was constructed to serve passengers in the eastern part of the city.
The project was also executed to meet the growing needs of the tech city as the trains in Hyderabad and Secunderabad are generally operated through three major terminals: Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kacheguda.
Apart from Cherlapalli railway station, Lingampalli, in the western region of the twin city, was developed as another terminal station, reported New Indian Express. The second entry and new railway terminal station have been constructed to handle the demands of the increasing passengers.

The station building has been constructed on the basis of modern architecture and design in a way to make sure that it accommodates larger gatherings. The building comprises six booking counters and separate waiting rooms for ladies and gentlemen. Apart from an upper-class waiting area in the premises, there is an executive lounge on the ground floor as well.
Apart from this, the first floor will have a cafeteria, restaurant, and restroom facilities. To facilitate seamless inter-platform movement, the railway station has two spacious new foot overbridges, one 12 meters wide and another six meters wide.
