New Delhi: A Hyderabad man on September 14 died in the United States under suspicious circumstances, sending a shockwave among the family members. Mohammed Jaber Hussain, the deceased, was working as a civil engineer in Massachusetts and was found dead inside his house just 17 days after his marriage. The grieving family has sought assistance from the Indian authorities to repatriate his mortal remains to India.

Family Appeals For Help

The deceased's family has alleged that they belong to the economically weaker section, further urging the higher authorities to make arrangements to bring Hussain's remains back to Hyderabad. While amplifying the family's appeal, Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan urged External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to intervene in the matter.

In a post on X, Khan urged the Indian embassy to coordinate with the US authorities and facilitate the repatriation of his mortal remains to India. While citing the family's poor financial condition, he further requested the central government to bear the expenses of the process.

"I have requested you to kindly direct the @IndianEmbassyUS or @IndiainNewYork to extend all necessary assistance to the family, coordinate with the concerned US authorities, and facilitate the repatriation of his mortal remains to Hyderabad at the earliest," Khan wrote in his post.

"I also earnestly request the Government of India, through your good offices, to bear the expenses involved in transporting his mortal remains from the USA to India, considering the extremely poor financial condition of the bereaved family," he added.

Death Under Mysterious Circumstances

Jaber Hussain talked to his family earlier on September 14, hours before his death, reported NDTV, citing sources. The exact reason behind his death has not been publicly confirmed, and the family members are still waiting for the postmortem and medical reports.

As per his LinkedIn profile, Hussain had shifted to the US in 2021 to pursue a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of New Haven in Connecticut.
