Hyderabad News: A domestic fight turned fatal in Vikarabad district on Sunday when a woman allegedly killed her husband during an argument.

Police said the couple, Kumar and Renuka, lived at a real estate venture in Vikarabad mandal and often clashed over family matters. On Sunday, their dispute escalated when Renuka went to the kitchen, picked up chilli powder and threw it into Kumar’s eyes.

Before he could recover, she reportedly strangled him using a saree. The police reached the spot after receiving information and sent the body for post-mortem. Renuka has been detained, and an investigation is under way.

While Vikarabad witnessed violence within a home, Hyderabad’s Old City transforms into a lively hub as the popular Itvar Bazaar draws in crowds of locals and tourists. Stretching from Pathergatti to Charminar, the market is filled with stalls offering a variety of used goods — from bicycles, scooter spares and mobile accessories to clothes, household items and even vintage collectibles.

Traders say the market, which begins at 5 a.m. and wraps up by 10 AM, has been around for decades. Nearly 200 vendors set up shop every week, many of whom also trade at Jumerat Bazaar on Thursdays. They insist the products are legally sourced, despite rumours circulating online.

For buyers, the bazaar is a pocket-friendly option. Shoppers often look for durable second-hand items, while collectors hunt for antiques at bargain prices. Some, like locals, see it as more than shopping — a Sunday ritual that combines exploring, chai stops and bargains.
