Hyderabad Water Supply: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has announced a water supply disruption in parts of Hyderabad on Saturday, April 12. The supply cut will be carried out as part of the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme, which provides drinking water to Greater Hyderabad, repair work is currently underway on the 1200 mm diameter MS gravity main pipeline at Shahpur Nagar.

Hyderabad Water Supply: Date And Time Of Disruption

As per HMWSSB, the work will be taken up on April 12 from 6 am to 9 pm. For these 15 hours, water supply will be completely disrupted in certain areas under the jurisdiction of Jalmandila O&M Division-12, while partial disruptions may occur in other nearby areas.

With water levels rapidly declining in key reservoirs, particularly Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam in the Krishna basin and Sripada Yellampally in the Godavari basin, Greater Hyderabad and its surrounding areas are at risk of a water crisis next month. In response, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has urged the irrigation department to ensure that adequate water levels are maintained in these crucial reservoirs to avoid any drinking water shortages for the city.
