A 60-year-old woman, Suvarna, was brutally assaulted by a police constable’s wife and sister in Hyderabad over a dispute about the constable’s dog urinating near her house. The incident occurred around 11:15 am on Tuesday and was captured on CCTV, leading to charges and the detention of the constable along with two of his family members.

According to the NDTV report, the victim Suvarna confronted Constable Chandrakant after his pet dog urinated near her home, questioning him about allowing the animal to relieve itself in front of her property. This led to a verbal argument.

The constable then called his wife and sister, who arrived at the scene and attacked Suvarna physically. CCTV footage shows one of the women slapping and punching her on the face and head, then grabbing a stick from the constable to strike her multiple times. The second woman soon joined in the assault.

“The cop has been identified as Chandrakant. He, his sister and mother are currently in police custody. We are waiting for her caste certificate before sending the accused to judicial remand,” South East Zone additional deputy commissioner of police K Sreekanth said.

Bystanders reportedly watched the assault without intervening. The victim, Suvarna, filed a complaint at Madannapet Police Station. Inspector P Anjaneyulu confirmed that a case has been registered, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
