Sankranti Metro Fest 2025: Ahead of Makar Sankranti, the Hyderabad metro has launched the “Me Time on My Metro” campaign to provide surreal travel experiences to the commuters of the city. While announcing the campaign, the L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (L&TMRHL) stated that it will be organised in the Sankranti Metro Fest in the city from January 8 to 10.

The advisory from L&TMRHL stated that the campaign will offer passengers an experience of cultural festivities and enhanced travel experiences in the city. It further assured that commuters will get the time and space to pursue their interests inside the air-conditioned Metro cars, adding that the commuters will not get distracted by driving.

The L&TMRHL stated that the whole aim behind the campaign was to bring all the communities of the city together. It added that all the Metro stations will be transformed into cultural hubs and will also feature a series of activities, including songs and dance performances, as part of the Sankranti Metro Fest. The main aim behind the campaign is to establish that the metro trains are not only for convenient travel, but they can also contribute to personal growth.

HMRL MD NVS Reddy stated that it was their commitment to provide the residents of the city a world-class experience. “The campaign is a testament to our dedication to providing a world-class experience for the commuters. By integrating cultural festivities with daily travel, we aim to make the Metro a symbol of community and connectivity,” Reddy was quoted as saying by the New Indian Express.

The L&TMRHL earlier urged the residents to use more public transport, stating that the facilities in the metro trains and city buses have significantly improved. They also emphasised that more use of public transport will lead to better air quality and less traffic congestion.
