Telangana News:  Five teenage boys tragically drowned in the Kondapochamma Sagar Dam while swimming on January 11, Saturday, in the Siddipet district of Telangana. A gang of seven youngsters from Hyderabad visited the location on Saturday, the police said. Five of them sadly drowned after they slipped into deep water while swimming. But the other two were able to get away.

The seven people reportedly held hands before entering the reservoir to take selfies, according to media reports. They were unable to keep up the hold and eventually drowned later.

The cops hurried to the scene and looked into the situation after obtaining the information.

The deceased have been named as Dhanush (20), Lohith (17), Dineswar (17), Jatin (17), and Sahil (17). All belonged to Hyderabad.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed sorrow over the situation and directed officials to use expert divers to help search for any missing people.

“Siddipet district…five youths drown in Kondapochamma Sagar reservoir The tragic death was shocking. I have ordered the authorities to immediately go to the scene and take rescue measures…and to deploy lifeguards to rescue the missing. I pray to God to grant peace to the souls of the deceased and offer my deepest condolences to their families," he said in a post on X.

Additionally, he has directed the district authorities to keep a careful eye on the situation and make sure the right kind of aid is implemented.
