Aasara Pension Scheme: It's important to keep up with any new changes if you get a government pension on a regular basis. An important step has been made by the Telangana state government to guarantee the more equitable and transparent implementation of the Aasara pension plan. It intends to carry out social audits to thoroughly assess the scheme's operation in order to achieve this aim.

Previously employed in the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), social audits have demonstrated efficacy in identifying anomalies and retrieving funds that were misused. The Aasara pension plan is now being evaluated for a comparable auditing system.

The Telangana government introduced the Aasara Pension Scheme in 2014 as a major social welfare program with the goal of providing financial assistance to the most vulnerable members of society- those who are unable to work because of their advanced age, a disability, or difficult social conditions. The program's goal is to give these people a minimal level of living and a feeling of dignity.

Senior citizens (60 years of age and over), widows, people with disabilities (PWDs), single women (especially those who are unmarried or abandoned), handloom weavers, and those living with HIV/AIDS are among the groups of beneficiaries who get pensions under the plan.

Each group has a different monthly pension amount. While those with impairments receive an increased pension of Rs 3,000 per month, the majority of recipients receive Rs 2,000 per month. These sums are intended to meet fundamental requirements and lessen reliance on outside sources. In order to minimise delays and leaks, pension payments are sent straight into the beneficiaries' bank or post office accounts. To make sure that the benefits reach the intended users, biometric verification is frequently employed.
