The remaining union territories are Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry. India's states and union territories host a varied diversity of cultures, languages, and faiths. They also have a diverse range of natural features, including snow-capped mountains in the Himalayas and tropical beaches in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Interesting facts about territories of India
1. Andaman and Nicobar Islands: The world's largest sea turtle, Dermocheleys Coriacea, nests on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
- The scenery on our red 20 rupee note displays a natural view from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
- India's only active volcano is located in Andaman.
2. Chandigarh: The city of Chandigarh, with its excellent facilities and low population density, occupies more than half of the Union Territory.
- It is made up of around 50 rectangular sectors divided by broad streets that transport the city's fast-moving arterial traffic.
- The northern part of the city houses the main government buildings. The industrial districts are to the southeast, separated from the residential sections by a greenbelt filled with mango trees.
- The city's main industries are electronics, pharmaceuticals, ceramic plumbing fixtures, and electrical appliances.
3. Dadra and Nagar Haveli: Dadra and Nagar Haveli, located near the west coast, is divided into two parts. Dadra is encompassed by the state of Gujarat, whereas Nagar Haveli lies on the boundaries of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
- It was a Portuguese colony until 1779, and it became part of Independent India in 1954.
- Up until 1961, it was self-governing and functioned independently. The same year, 1961, it became a Union Territory of India.
- Currently, Dadra and Nagar Haveli are represented in both chambers of the Indian parliament.

4. Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu: Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu is a union territory in western India made up of three noncontiguous regions: Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman, and Diu. It was formed in January 2020 by the merging of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu union territories.
- Goa, Daman, and Diu were absorbed into the Republic of India on December 19, 1961, through military invasion.
- The territory of Goa, 'Daman, and Diu' was managed as a single union territory until 1987, when Goa obtained statehood, leaving Daman and Diu as their own union territory.
5. Lakshadweep: Kavaratti Island is the site for INS Deeprakashak, a vital Indian Navy facility.
- Kavaratti has been an important base for the Indian Navy since the 1980s. Nevertheless, INS Deeprakashak was commissioned in 2012.
6. Delhi (National Capital Territory): New Delhi is the capital and hub of the Indian government, as well as the centre of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
- In 1991, the Constitution Act renamed the Union Territory of Delhi the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
7. Puducherry (Pondicherry): Previously, the territory was known as Pondicherry.
- The name was changed to Puducherry on September 20, 2006.
- Puducherry is more commonly recognized as the 'White town'
- Puducherry observes Independence Day on August 16, whilst the rest of the nation does on August 15.
- The former capital of Puducherry was Madras.
8. Ladakh: The Siberian ibex, the Ladakh urial (a reddish-coated wild sheep), and black and brown bears are among the wild mammals found in the Ladakh Union region.
- The Ladakh region is sparsely populated. The majority of the people in the Leh district are Tibetan Buddhists who speak the Tibeto-Burman language (Ladakhi).
- Tourism has had a tremendous economic influence in Ladakh, which was mainly isolated from outsiders until the 1970s. Leh Palace is one of Ladakh's most important historical sites, and the district's numerous Tibetan-style monasteries are also famous tourist attractions.
