Nirmala Sitharaman has been India’s Finance Minister since 31 May 2019. She is the first woman to occupy this role full-time and has played a crucial role in overseeing India's finances throughout difficult periods, such as the pandemic. The Union Budget 2025 will be unveiled on 1 February and is anticipated to prioritise creating employment opportunities, development of infrastructure, and revival of the economy.
