They are in charge of creating budgets, carrying out financial regulations and ensuring stability and expansion of the economy. India has had numerous finance ministers over the years who have implemented policies and reforms to address the nation's evolving requirements. Nirmala Sitharaman has been India’s Finance Minister since 31 May 2019. She is the first woman to occupy this role full-time and has played a crucial role in overseeing India's finances throughout difficult periods, such as the pandemic. The Union Budget 2025 will be unveiled on 1 February and is anticipated to prioritise creating employment opportunities, development of infrastructure, and revival of the economy.
