Holidays List of 2025 In India: The Union government of India has set up a list of Gazetted and Restricted holidays for the year 2025. Through this list, one can easily know which government department would remain closed throughout India on a specific day. Annual holiday list gets published and details that help both public institutions and private organizations, as well as individuals, in planning the next financial year.
Gazetted holidays are those days that are essential for all the employees in the governmental offices and institutions and are considered to be of great national, cultural and religious importance. These are implemented throughout the nation without bias. On the other hand, restricted holidays are considered optional and give employees an option to avail themselves of these holidays to observe a day that appeals most to religious belief or cultural practice. States may have different policies regarding the observance of restricted holidays based on the particular institution or Organization to which the employee is attached.
