Ajinkya Rahane Is New Captain Of Kolkata Knight Riders
Notably, Ajinkya Rahane has been appointed as the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) for the IPL 2025 and Venkatesh Iyer is the Vice-captain. KKR signed Ajinkya Rahane for his basic price of Rs 1.5 crore at the IPL mega auction in November 2024. At Rs 23.75 crore, Iyer was KKR's biggest (the third most costly player) at the auction.
RCB's Captain Is Rajat Patidar
A few days before, Rajat Patidar was appointed as the captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the 2025 Indian Premier League. One of the two candidates for the leadership position was Patidar, while the other was former captain Virat Kohli. But by selecting the 31-year-old, the team chose to focus on the long term. Taking over for the Punjab Kings is Shreyas Iyer, who rejoins coach Ricky Ponting. Leading the Lucknow Super Giants following a record-breaking auction transaction is Rishabh Pant.
