Indian Government Schemes:  The Indian Government has introduced an enormous number of schemes for the upliftment of the socio-economic conditions of the people of the country, which primarily focuses on underprivileged and minorities in the nation’s economic dynamics. The schemes have been made to cater to all areas of employment, housing, health, education, and financial inclusion to provide solutions to issues faced by different sections of the population. For example, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act ensures wage employment guarantees to rural households and acts as a safety net for the poor in rural India. Similarly, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana launched on June 25, 2015, aims to provide affordable housing to the urban and rural poor, with a target of constructing millions of houses.

Another significant scheme is the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, which offers health insurance coverage up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation which will significantly improve access to healthcare for financially less fortunate families.

Atal Pension Yojana is a pension benefit scheme for those who work in the unorganized sector to ensure financial security in old age. The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is for financial inclusion through access to banking services for every household in India, allowing them to open zero-balance accounts and avail of various financial services. The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana aims to improve the employability status of rural youths through skill development and vocational training. Secondly, the National Digital Health Mission provides a step towards a more digital-age nation. It is a digital healthcare ecosystem, which connects patients effortlessly to respective healthcare providers at your fingertips.

Government Initiatives like the Antyodaya Anna Yojana provide subsidised food grains to the poorest families. Whereas, the most popular scheme, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana aims to provide clean cooking fuel (LPG) connections to women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) households, especially in rural areas to reduce indoor pollution which significantly effect the health of family members who cooks. The main objective of these schemes is beyond conquering poverty, it empowers citizens with the skills and resources for self-sufficiency, which plays a key role in the success of the country.
