List Of 17 National Symbols Of India And Their Meanings

1. National Flag - Tiranga

The Tiranga is the tricolour national flag of India with three horizontal stripes, including saffron at the top, white in the middle, and green at the bottom. At the centre of the white stripe is a navy blue wheel called Ashoka Chakra, which highlights 24 spokes. 2. National Emblem

The National Emblem of India is a modification of the Lion Capital of Ashoka at Sarnath. It consists of four lions standing back to back on a circular abacus. The abacus has an elephant, a horse, a bull, and a lion separated by wheels (Dharma Chakras). Below the emblem is inscribed the motto Satyameva Jayate in Devanagari script, which translates as Truth Alone Triumphs.

3. National Anthem - Jana Gana Mana

Jana Gana Mana is the national anthem of India, which was composed by Rabindranath Tagore. It was implemented as the national anthem on 24 January 1950 and has the capability of instantly filling citizens' hearts with a sense of unity and nationalism.
