List Of CSK Captains From Season 1 To Now: The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) One of the most prosperous and well-liked teams in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. With dependable performances and a devoted following, CSK has established a solid reputation since the inaugural season in 2008. Strong leadership has been a major factor in their success. Well, only a few players have had the opportunity to captain the team over the years, but each one has been crucial to CSK's development.

The team's face has been MS Dhoni since it's first season in 2008, who has led it for the majority of its IPL career and won numerous titles. In various seasons, players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina also had the chance to captain the team. 1. MS Dhoni (2008–2023)

He led the team to victory in 142 of its 235 games as captain. In 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023, Dhoni led CSK to five IPL championships. 2. Suresh Raina (2010–2019)

In Dhoni's absence, CSK's backup captain was Suresh Raina, who is frequently referred to as "Mr. IPL." He led the squad in 6 matches from 2010 to 2019, winning 2 and losing 3, with one game ending in a draw. Even though he was only captain for a short time, he was a reliable member of CSK's batting lineup and one of their best players.

3. Ravindra Jadeja (2022)

In the 2022 Indian Premier League, Ravindra Jadeja was selected to succeed MS Dhoni as captain. However, he only won 2 of his 8 matches in this role. Jadeja stepped down in the middle of the season and returned the captaincy to Dhoni due to the team's subpar play and growing pressure. 4. Ruturaj Gaikwad (2024–2025)

In 2024, young opener Ruturaj Gaikwad succeeded Dhoni as captain of CSK. He led the team in 14 games during his rookie campaign, winning seven and losing seven. Ruturaj's cool head and keen game sense were encouraging. Even though CSK didn't win the championship in 2024, his leadership gave the team a new beginning, and it is anticipated that he will develop into a capable team leader.

I have to put in a lot of work for another six to eight months after the IPL ends to see if my body can handle the strain. I have nothing to decide at this time.” This implies that he will evaluate his level of fitness prior to selecting IPL 2026. Stephen Fleming, the coach of CSK, emphasised Dhoni's value to the team and acknowledged his continuous contribution.
