Corruption is more strong in some nations than others because of poor governance, a lack of transparency and misuse of power. Every year, Global organisations such as Transparency International publish annual reports that rate countries according to their levels of corruption.

One of the most reliable rankings for assessing corruption in the public sector is the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI). Countries with high levels of corruption face issues like bribery, political scandals and inadequate law enforcement. On the other hand, countries with strong legal frameworks and open administrations typically have lower levels of corruption.

As per CPI’s data, South Sudan is the most corrupt country in the world, ranking at 180th place out of 180 Countries and having a score of only 8 out of 100. Following it, Somalia is the second most corrupt nation in the world ranking at 179th place and scoring just 9 out of 100. Apart from them, Venezuela, Syria, Yemen, Lybia and other countries are also on the list of most corrupt countries.

Least Corrupt Countries In The World

Let us tell you, Denmark secures the top position and is the least corrupt country in the world with rank one out of 180  having a score of 90 out of 100. While Finland and Singapore are the second and third least corrupt countries. Countries like New Zealand, Luxembourg, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Australia are also on the list of the top ten least corrupt countries.

China, Pakistan And Sri Lanka's Ranking In The Most Corrupt Countries

Neighbouring Countries like China is at 76th rank with a 43 score,  Pakistan at 135th rank with a 27 score and Sri Lanka with a score of 31 is at 121 rank. Meanwhile, Nepal is at 107th place.
