4. The Bell Witch Haunting

In the early 1800s, a family in Tennessee reported that a ghostly spirit had been haunting them for years. Known as the Bell Witch, the ghost tore hair, scarred walls and even killed John Bell, the family's father. President Andrew Jackson is said to have visited the location because the story became so well-known.

In Key West, Florida, a youngster named Robert Eugene Otto received a vintage doll called Robert. Locals thought the doll had a life of its own, and the boy blamed it for mischievous actions. The doll is said to move, chuckle, and bring misfortune to people who mistreat it. It is now housed in a museum, and guests are urged to obtain permission before snapping a picture of it.

This chair is believed to be cursed by a man named Thomas Busby, who was hanged in 1702. Before his execution, he supposedly cursed the chair, saying anyone who sat in it would die. Over the years, many who sat in the chair died mysteriously. It’s now kept in a museum and hung on a wall, so no one can sit on it.

This eerie painting shows a young boy standing beside a life-sized doll with hands reaching toward them from a glass door. It gained attention when people who bought or viewed the painting reported feeling sick, scared, or uneasy. Some claimed the figures in the painting moved at night. It became an internet legend known as "the world’s most haunted painting."
