Recently the Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs has inaugurated the 9th edition of this urban cleanliness survey in a comprehensive and better organized way.
Indore has been declared to be the cleanest city in India for subsequent years in a row, playing an exemplary role. According to the Swachh Survekshan report of 2023-2024, Surat is ranked 2nd and is noted for its good street scene and good waste collection system. Navi Mumbai ranks third, which beautifully describes urban development and cleanliness. These cities inspire others to prioritize cleanliness and sustainability.

1. Indore

Indore has been India’s cleanest city for several years. In particular, the city is ranked very high in the waste segregation process, which guarantees segregation at the source between wet and dry waste. Its advanced composting techniques and public participation in cleanliness drives keep the city spotless.
2. Surat
Surat is famous for the effectiveness of its waste management and cleaning of the streets. The city has an efficient garbage pick-up system and the whole city is sanitised on a routine basis. The cleaner marketplace environment and the active participation of citizens contribute as well toward its cleanliness.
3. Navi Mumbai
Navi Mumbai is known for its well-designed infrastructure and cleanliness. By providing regular waste collection, recycling drives and properly preserved public areas, the city remains clean and environmentally clean.
