List of Countries Supporting Iran: Iran has always played a powerful and controversial role in the Middle East and global politics. Iran has strong support from many nations worldwide, despite being subject to international sanctions and having regular conflicts with Western nations, particularly the United States and Israel. These nations frequently support Iran in wars or diplomatic disputes because they have similar political, religious, strategic or regional interests.
As the conflict between Iran and Israel garners international attention, many of Iran's long-standing allies have publicly or diplomatically stepped up to support Tehran Pakistan, Turkey, Palestine, Syria and Lebanon are among the nations that have shown support for Iran, particularly in the wake of Israel's airstrikes and Iran's military retaliation. China has also come to the support of Iran, condemning Israel's attack. These countries support Iran's right to self-defence and frequently denounce Israel's actions.
Countries That Are openly Supporting Iran During Israel- Iran Tensions
Apart from these, nations like Yemen, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt have offered support in different ways, including through media releases, offers of mediation or by advocating for regional peace. Relationships with Iran are different for each of these nations, depending on factors like religion, regional politics or previous collaboration.
In this article, we look at the countries that consistently support Iran and how each one reacted to the recent Iran-Israel conflict in 2025.
1. Pakistan
Geographically, religiously, and politically, Pakistan and Iran have very close ties. Islamabad has denounced Israeli strikes on Iranian territory on numerous occasions, describing them as "severe violations" of Iran's sovereignty and cautioning that they could jeopardise regional peace in South Asia. Recently, Iran claimed that if Israel keeps harming them, then Pakistan will attack Israel with nuclear weapons. Although Pakistan reiterated its support for stability and diplomacy for Iran, Islamabad formally denied recent Iranian claims that Pakistan would retaliate in the event of nuclear aggression.

2. Turkey
Iran and Turkey have been working together in the areas of energy, diplomacy, and regional security. Turkey has expressed strong support for Iran and Palestine under President Erdoğan, criticised Western support for Israel and offered to mediate the conflict. Furthermore, Putin and Erdoğan have called for dialogue and denounced the Israeli airstrikes as escalating.

3. Palestine
Since Israeli strikes on Iran are seen as a breach of international law, the official Palestinian leadership supports Iran's position. Palestinian officials have echoed calls for moderation and framed Israel's actions as part of its long-running struggle, despite not being a formal ally like Hamas.

4. Syria
Iran's close ally Syria has declared its complete solidarity with Tehran, claiming that Iran's actions were justified self-defence. Damascus backs Iran's military response and sees Israel's strikes as unlawful aggression.
5. Iraq

Iraq has expressed solidarity with Tehran, viewing Israel's strikes as unwarranted aggression. Baghdad supports Iran's right to self-defence, emphasising the need for regional stability and condemning actions that escalate tensions in the Middle East.
6. Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has condemned Israeli strikes on Iran, despite their long-standing tense relationship, and warned of a regional escalation. Riyadh calls for diplomatic solutions and stresses moderation.
7. United Arab Emirates
The UAE denounced Israel's attacks on Iranian territory and called for "the utmost restraint," striking a balance between its relationship with Iran and its ties to the West. It favours diplomatic resolution and fears instability.

8. China

China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi condemned Israel's attacks on Iranian territory on Saturday, deeming them a serious violation of international law. Wang called for restraint, urging both parties to seek a diplomatic resolution and prioritize regional stability, while offering China's mediation services.
9. Egypt
Although Egypt and Israel have a formal peace, they are both concerned about regional escalation. Cairo has warned against the war's spread and voiced "deep concern" about Israeli strikes that affect Iran. Egypt promotes calm while maintaining diplomatic ties with Tehran.
10. Lebanon
The Middle Eastern country Lebanon’s Hezbollah, backed by Iran, praised Iran’s response to Israeli aggression as “brave” and said Tehran was within its rights. The Lebanese government also condemned the strikes, calling them escalatory and illegal.
11. Yemen
The Houthi rebels in Yemen, who are a part of Iran's regional network, back Tehran's position. Their repeated attacks on Israel-aligned shipping in the Red Sea demonstrate their solidarity with Iran, albeit indirectly and show that they share resistance.
