Today is Hug Day, which is celebrated on February 12th every year on the sixth day of Valentine's Week. The day is an apt opportunity for lovers to express feelings through a comfortable and warm hug. More than just a physical embrace, a hug can convey loads of emotions, from love and comfort to support and reassurance. Hug Day isn't just for people who are in love relationships, you can also give a good platonic hug to your family and friends for all the support and positivity they brought into your life.

According to the Healthline website, we need four hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth. Therefore, celebrate Hug Day not just to express love but also to provide security and support to your close ones, who might be going through tough times and your hug can brighten up their lives. It is also important to note that being mindful of personal boundaries and making sure that hugs are always welcome and consensual is a necessity.
