In a fresh twist to the longstanding controversy surrounding US President Donald Trump's ties to Jeffrey Epstein, newly released photographs and video footage have placed the convicted sex offender at Trump’s 1993 wedding to Marla Maples. The visuals, uncovered by CNN’s KFile investigative team, reignite questions about how far back the Trump-Epstein relationship stretches, despite Trump’s repeated attempts to distance himself.
CNN’s report reveals that archival photos from October 1993, taken by photographer Dafydd Jones, show Epstein attending Trump’s wedding reception. These images, previously unpublished, suggest Epstein was present during key moments of Trump’s personal life, an association Trump has sought to minimize in recent years.
CNN also cited footage from the 1999 Victoria’s Secret fashion show in New York, showing Trump and Epstein laughing and chatting before the event began. This footage was discovered during a thorough review of Trump’s appearances at social events throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.
Trump Camp Responds To Renewed Scrutiny
While Trump himself responded dismissively to CNN’s report with a terse “Are you kidding me?” his communications team went on the offensive. A letter from White House Communications Director Steven Cheung accused the media of spreading misleading narratives. “These are nothing more than out-of-context frame grabs… to disgustingly infer something nefarious,” the letter read. It also reiterated Trump’s claim that he cut ties with Epstein years ago, stating he had banned him from Mar-a-Lago for inappropriate behavior.
Nonetheless, the reemergence of this evidence adds fuel to speculation and public interest, especially as Trump’s supporters await the release of sealed documents linked to Epstein’s criminal case.
Trump and Epstein are believed to have first crossed paths in the early 1990s, often interacting in elite social circles in Palm Beach and New York. NBC News had earlier reported footage of the two socializing at a 1992 party, bolstering claims of a longer association than Trump acknowledges.
These revelations come at a politically sensitive time for Trump, who is under pressure from various quarters to clarify past associations, particularly with individuals like Epstein who have been convicted of serious crimes.
Jeffrey Epstein, accused of sexually abusing numerous underage girls, served 13 months in jail in 2008 under a controversial plea deal. In 2019, he faced fresh federal charges of sex trafficking, but died by suicide in jail before trial. His associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was later convicted for her role in the abuse.
