Elon Musk, earlier this year welcomed a new baby to his family. This baby, reportedly his 12th child and third with Shivon Zilis, Neuralink Corp director of special projects, was quietly added to the family. The 52-year-old Tesla founder has not yet announced the name or sex of the newborn, who has been kept out of the public eye. Amid various speculations about the birth of his youngest child, Musk clarified that the baby's arrival was not a "secret".
The X Corp owner told Page Six, “Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean ‘secret'.”
“As for ‘secretly fathered’, that is also false," he confirmed in a statement. “All our friends and family know," said Musk.
His latest child was first mentioned in a Bloomberg article published on Friday titled "Elon Wants You to Have More Babies," which highlights his preoccupation with birth rates. The article noted that Zilis declined to comment and that Musk did not respond to inquiries about the newborn.
In recent interactions, Elon has shown concerns about the declining birth rate. Elon Musk in a conversation with Page Six, mentioned that the birth rate is gradually declining and the population should be increasing.
"Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far,” Elon had said in an old social media post on X. Elon Musk has reiterated, emphasising that many countries are already significantly below the "replacement rate", with this trend expected to persist.

The founder of Tesla has had children with three different women over a span of twenty years. His first child was born in 2002, and his most recent baby arrived in early 2024.
Musk had his first six children with his ex-wife, Justine Wilson, between 2002 and 2006. Later, he had children with singer-songwriter Grimes and Shivon Zilis, the director at Neuralink Corp.
Musk has twins with Zilis, which Business Insider uncovered in 2022 through a court document. He also has three children with musician Grimes, bringing the known total to 12.

Elon Musk accused of sexual misconduct in the workplace
This revelation of Elon Musk’s 12th child comes days after numerous reports of Musk's alleged inappropriate behaviour in the workplace and with subordinates went viral. According to a recent report from The Wall Street Journal, Musk had a sexual relationship with a former SpaceX intern who later advanced to an executive position within the company. Another employee claimed she repeatedly turned down Musk's requests to have children with him, as reported by the Journal.
Last week, eight former SpaceX engineers filed a lawsuit against Musk, accusing him of "knowingly and purposefully creating an unwelcome hostile work environment" by introducing offensive sexual photographs, memes, and comments that demeaned women and the LGBTQ+ community. The complaint reflects previous allegations of discrimination and sexual harassment at SpaceX, including an incident where Musk allegedly propositioned a flight attendant for sex.
