Citadel was initially conceived as an ambitious global franchise by Amazon Prime Video, one that would unite tales and characters from several nations, showcasing regional talent and distinctive storytelling inside a common universe. It was intended to be a ground-breaking global spy story with interconnected stories that took place around the globe.

Citadel Season 2 Release Update

Citadel's second season, which stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden, will debut worldwide in the second quarter of 2026, according to Amazon MGM Studios.

The studio announced the release window as well as the cancellation of the overseas spin-offs, Citadel: Diana (Italy) and Citadel: Honey Bunny (India), as stand-alone shows. In fact, their narratives will be included in the second season. According to Variety, the firm has chosen to combine all of the stories into a single worldwide plot, despite the success of both Honey Bunny and Diana.

"Having successfully traversed India and Italy, storylines from both Citadel: Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana will be woven into the upcoming second season of the mothership series Citadel," said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios.

How Will Citadel Merge With Honey Bunny And Diana?

The Citadel spies went underground while being pursued by Manticore operatives worldwide, according to the Season 2 logline that Amazon provided.

"One month after the events of the first season, we find our Citadel spies underground, as they’re being hunted by Manticore agents around the world. They’re pulled out of hiding to join forces with a new team of unconventional spies when Manticore’s Brazilian billionaire Paulo Braga threatens to unleash a cataclysmic piece of technology, built by Citadel’s own Bernard Orlick, into the world," Amazon MGM Studios revealed, reported Pinkvilla.
