Harry Potter HBO Series: The much-awaited show of HBO, Harry Potter, has officially begun its production on July 14, 2025. The captivating first look of Dominic McLaughlin, aka Harry Potter, has been shared online. The child actor was dressed in a wizarding robe. The series has been currently shot at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden, Hertfordshire in England. Sharing the first look of Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, the makers wrote on Instagram, “First-years, step forward. The HBO Original Harry Potter series is now in production.”

Social media users reacted to the first look and shared their views. A user said, “Good luck little Harry. Please protect him from all the haters.” Another said, “Ok. Yup. He was the perfect choice.” A comment read, “glasses, let’s hope you keep the book accuracy up! (sad about the green eyes though).” Another comment read, “He looks great as Harry!” A netizen said, “Screaming and crying. A new era of magic begins.”

 

HBO confirmed that the TV adaptation of JK Rowling’s book series will premiere sometime in 2027. Apart from Dominic McLaughlin, the show stars Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

In an earlier statement, confirming the selection of three lead actors, director Mark Mylod said, “After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione and Ron. The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It’s been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”

As per reports, the seven-book series will be shown in the Harry Potter HBO series. The maker also featured new cast Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.

The other cast includes Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander, Nick Frost as Hagrid, John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Snape, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby as Petunia and Vernon Dursley, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge, Luke Thallon as Professor Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse as Flich. JK Rowling is the executive producer for the HBO series with Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts of Bronte Film and TV and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
