Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four has added another talented name to its star-studded cast. Emmy Award-winning actress Julia Garner is set to join the film as the iconic character Shalla-Bal, who will become the Silver Surfer. This casting announcement adds to the excitement surrounding the highly anticipated movie, which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 6.

Garner joins previously announced cast members Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn. Pascal is set to play Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, Kirby will portray Sue Storm, or the Invisible Woman, Moss-Bachrach will take on the role of Ben Grimm, or The Thing and Quinn will play Jonny Storm, aka the Human Torch.

The Silver Surfer, a beloved character in the Marvel universe, was last portrayed on-screen by Doug Jones in the 2007 film 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer', with Laurence Fishburne lending his voice to the character. Garner's portrayal of Shalla-Bal is expected to bring a new dimension to the character, especially considering her pivotal role as the first wife of Norrin Radd, the Silver Surfer.

Directed by Matt Shakman, known for his work on 'WandaVision', 'The Fantastic Four' is shaping up to be a must-watch film for Marvel fans. Production is scheduled to commence this summer, with a release date set for July 25, 2025.

Julia Garner's addition to the cast adds to the excitement surrounding the film, and fans are eager to see her take on the role of Shalla-Bal.
